I was introduced to boating in 2012 by my partner Kev, a keen sailor. We joined a sailing flotilla in Orhaniye, Turkey and I fell in love with the ocean.&nbsp;Our first solo sail was on an Oceanis 323 called Dimitreaus. Kev talked me through assisting him to sail the boat. My confidence grew hour by hour, as did my enthusiasm. Our sailing adventures allowed us to meet people equally passionate about the sport. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and amazing scenery. We ate at secluded restaurants, admired crystal-blue waters and watched dolphins play at the bow of the boat. Words cannot describe the tranquillity.&nbsp;My interest in sailing intensified, so we joined more flotillas and I took my skipper&rsquo;s ticket and got my Powerboat Level 1 and 2 certificates.&nbsp;We decided that the time was right for Kev to get a new boat and over the next four years spent many happy hours visiting various boat shows researching the options. We looked at near enough every boat available, both sail and power. As we were working full time, we concluded that a motor boat would enable us to get to places at weekends which would be out of reach to us in a yacht.&nbsp;Finally, in September 2016, we found the boat of our dreams, the Sealine C330. She had the space, performance, build quality, clean lines and feeling of space we wanted! TBS Boats were brilliant; we visited and revisited the stand on five consecutive days at the Southampton Boat Show. We went over every inch of the C330, checking storage, engines and every little detail of the boat.&nbsp;We collected Chilaxin from Hamble in April 2017, taking with us the bare essentials to stay on board overnight and then bring her back to Devon. Kev set off first thing in the boat while I drove back in the car to meet him at our berth at MDL Brixham. It was a bit of a Top Gear race to get back (I was&nbsp;convinced Kev would get back before me as traffic on the A35 is always a nightmare). However, Kev hit fog and rough seas coming along the south coast. After several hours, he called to get final directions into the berth.&nbsp;I was pleased Kev had made it okay on his first solo trip in a brand new boat, and he was all smiles, stating that Chilaxin was an awesome boat.&nbsp;Every weekend after that we were on the boat, taking her out to new places &ndash; Weymouth, Exmouth, Lyme Regis, Torquay, Brixham, Dartmouth, Salcombe and across to Guernsey. The Guernsey trip was a scream, going with 13 other boats with a mix of power and sail. The weather was definitely better for the powerboats going over and we made the trip in just over three hours, taking it steady for the smaller boats in the fleet.&nbsp;In our first season, we put 112 hours on the engines and although we haven&rsquo;t taken her out over the winter months due to the bad weather, we have still stayed a number of nights on board. We have also had plenty of visitors and never felt crowded. This coming season, we intend to take her across the Channel and investigate the French waterways as she is the perfect size for the rivers.&nbsp;Chilaxin is our happy place and we are looking forward to plenty of new adventures this year.
