Roshni Kurup, founder and creative director of The Hue Story, explains how and why they deliver their promise of the perfect wedding.
At The Hue Story, we think of ourselves as artists - we believe that a perfect wedding is fine art, an exquisite creative collaboration, a journey of imagination as well as seamless preparation resulting in a unique and memorable occasion. While we do weddings and events in South Asia (where we take care of the visas, hospitality and logistics as well) and other wedding destinations in India like Jaipur, Udaipur, Goa, Bangalore and Chennai; the weddings in Kerala remain our favourite, for there is nothing like a wedding in our beautiful Kerala. Weddings are a good occasion to appreciate and celebrate this place and its culture, so we ensure we bring in the elements unique to Kerala, like the pookalams and ornate swings, and create an environment with music and fragrance that remind the guests of the beauty of this place.
Over the years, we have seen the people of Kerala embracing a more evolved and minimalistic lifestyle choices. We feel Kerala is ready for a change in how they get married too, where the weddings become smaller, warmer and more tasteful and thoughtful.
We are not very trendy people. For every choice we had to make, we have chosen the timeless over the trendy. However, we have adopted these ‘trends’ in our 2017 events, and it definitely seems like we are going to take it forward to 2018 for sure.
Handmade Origami matrimony
We met several couples who insisted on a simple wedding and refused to have nuptials that splurged on imported flowers. These origami weddings seem like they’re here to stay – right from invites to centerpieces, backdrops and favours, it is paper handcrafted – cute, simple and sustainable.
