Adams is also excited about the quality of care AdventHealth medical facilities have to offer Polk County residents.
“Since our founding in 1908, AdventHealth has been committed to a promise of whole-person health – caring for the mind, body and spirit,’’ Adams said. “We do that by delivering compassionate care through our innovation, and helping our community be the healthiest it can be.’’
In September, AdventHealth acquired the former Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center, Lake Wales Medical Center, Heart of Florida Physician Group, two Urgent Care centers, two Wound Care facilities and the Four Corners ER. AdventHealth is the only national healthcare company headquartered in Florida, which allows Polk County residents to more easily access its network of nationally and internationally recognized physicians.
Since then it has been full steam ahead for the charismatic CEO who never asks more of his employees than he is willing to do himself.
“I am excited about the investments in the quality of care we are making at both the Davenport and Lake Wales hospitals. We are embedding our best practices, we are making an investment in both hospitals with new equipment, with the staff, by offering more educational opportunities and by recruiting more specialists and subspecialists,’’ he said.
AdventHealth is making $24.5 million in investments in hospital infrastructure, new patient beds, new equipment and in IT systems and technology.
“In the next year, we will be developing a pediatric-friendly Emergency Department that will be designed especially for children and will be staffed with specially-trained physicians and team members,’’ he said.
