Panasonic has been an ardent supporter of solar-powered homes in Japan. What are some of the solutions it has for the Indian market?
At Panasonic Life Solutions India (PLSI), we started our solar business in India in 2015 with focused solutions around energy generation, monitoring/measurement, and saving. We deliver end-to-end renewable service & product solutions in form of solar modules, solar inverters and solar street lights. our solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services include rooftop and ground-mounted power solutions and so far, we have installed 85+ MWp projects in India. Additionally, we offer post-installation services in form of O&M (operations and maintenance) to ensure a holistic experience to our consumers. At PLSI, we are the only multinational organization in the country to have “Made in India” solar modules.
Recently, we introduced string inverters for domestic customers that further accentuates our value proposition i.e. aimed at higher - reliability(comfort), energy savings and safety.
How is Panasonic working with the Indian government for India’s ambitious solar strategy?
India has grown significantly in the last decade, from a country with a few megawatts to 45,000 megawatts of the installed solar base. This is a significant accomplishment. The conducive GoI’s policies are allowing rapid deployment in both utility-scale and distributed segment comprising of C&I and residential market. Additionally, we have seen strong interest from the GOI in pushing for the manufacturing of the entire value chain in India, where the recent PLI program for solar received a phenomenal response.
