This year, NEPCON was hosted by the city of Nagoya on September 5, 2018. As has been the case with every edition of this show, this one also lived up to the expectations of being a platform that provides insights into the technology of the future.
I was lucky to have made it to NEPCON Nagoya as a lot of flights were affected due to typhoon Jebi. But I consider myself fortunate as it gave me a chance to witness some of the latest technologies in the field of automotive electronics. This year, too, some of the major technology companies had put up their booths showcasing their latest offerings in the automotive space. However, the major themes on display were ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems), IoT in automotive, improvements in driving safety, power management, vehicle control systems for EVs, etc.
Sensors for autonomous vehicles
This year some of the top global companies displayed their automotive solutions, which were aimed at making automobiles smarter and ensuring better power management in EVs. As sensors form the backbone of any smart system, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) require numerous integrated sensors for accurate situational assessment and action implementation.
