Vinita Bhatia realises that Ashish Seth, VP-materials of Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces means business when he calls suppliers as collaborators and value enhancers and why the brand goes all out to guide, support and encourage vendors to deliver to its standards
Ashish Seth, VP-materials at Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces appreciates the power of collaboration. Hence, he does not believe that the main aim of procurement personnel is merely getting products and services at the lowest price. Or that the goal of establishing a long-term relationship with suppliers is to simply reduce direct operating costs.
According to him, the objective should be to continuously invest in providing value for money, which includes Cost, Quality and Delivery (CQD). This includes preventing an over kill and at the same time creating a system of value-added sustainable products and services for customers and the hotel. That is precisely why he calls his suppliers as partners, collaborators and value enhancers.
