While lavish and well-appointed amenities and a cosy bed is what a guest may look forward to during their stay in a hotel, cleanliness, and sanitation still rank top on their priority list. For an industry that heavily banks upon creating a home-away-home experience, good hygiene has always been fundamental in creating and elevating ambiences wherein the guests feel rested and assured.
However, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has significantly altered the definition of hygiene and safety for guests and hotels at large. In fact, guests have become all the more anxious and mindful regarding the overall cleanliness and hygiene, especially while planning their stay. A lot of studies too have mirrored guest’s rising concerns regarding safety and hygiene while planning their hotel stay. According to a recent survey by P&G Professional, about 70% of hotel guests have a more stringent definition of hotel cleanliness since COVID-19. Additionally, over 60% rated overall cleaning and housekeeping procedures as extremely important attributes to their guest experience.
