THE POWER OF LOVE
MARWAR India|November - December 2020
Love, compassion and kindness are simple tools, yet they hold tremendous power to transform lives, as Prasanna Bhandari’s lifelong dedication to the service of the weak, helpless and underprivileged has exemplified.

THE POWER OF LOVE

THERE ARE SOME WHO FIND FULFILMENT AND MORE meaning in life by contributing to the well-being of others. Prasanna Bhandari, the convenor of Shri Karni Nagar Vikas Samiti (SKNVS), is one such selfless individual, whose driving spirit since childhood has been to find happiness by making others happy. Thanks to her dedication and tireless endeavours, Shri Karni Nagar Vikas Samiti stands out as a haven of love, compassion and comfort for abandoned infants, underprivileged children, destitute girls and the elderly, in the city of Kota today.

A spirit of giving

Prasanna Bhandari attributes her altruistic bent to her father actually, whose philanthropic outlook, she says, inspired her to think of others before herself. “I would enjoy doing chores for elderly ladies and get a lot of blessings in return. I would also often share my meagre possessions with poor children,” she says. The philanthropic streak, in fact, ran through the entire family. Born in Jodhpur, where her father served the royal family, her family would consider the whole mohalla as one big family and remain actively connected with it, she reminisces.
