2010: David Oscarson Lilies
This year marked the 10th anniversary of David Oscarson hot enamel and guilloche writing instruments, and the David Oscarson Lilies collection commemorated that event. It also garnered Oscarson his first Readers' Choice Award. The David Oscarson Lilies collection has three levels of guilloche engraving and six colors of translucent and opaque hard enamel. It harkens to the Bible quote from the Book of Luke: “Consider the lilies...and celebrates the natural, virtuous, and pure.

2011: Visconti Golden Man HRH
One of the most exceptional archeological discoveries of the 20th century was the Golden Man, the remains of a Scythian warrior adorned with 4,000 pieces of gold discovered in present-day Kazakhstan. The Visconti Golden Man HRH won Pen of the Year honors in 2011 for its stunning red lacquer body patterned with gold and inset with 250 white diamonds.

Inspired by Art Deco aesthetics and the Harlequin character from Italian commedia dell arte, the David Oscarson Harlequin collection features three layers of guilloche engraving and five translucent and opaque hard enamel colors matched to 18 karat gold or sterling silver appointments with three inset diamonds in the pen body.

2013: Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year Oakwood
For the first time, Germany's Graf von Faber-Castell wins Pen of the Year for its own Pen of the Year series of writing instruments. Graf von Faber Castell Pen of the Year: 2012 Oak Wood features a barrel of 1,700-year-old German wetlands oak matched to hand-applied gold leafing using a squirrel-hair brush.
