Positive Thinking Or Practical Thinking?
"If you want to shine like a Sun.First burn like a Sun."
- Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
One of the executives was motivating his team stating that we should always be positive. We should never pay attentions to the hurdles coming into our way. We must always concentrate on our strengths and not on weaknesses. This type of superficial talks can never result into success. How a sick person can be healthy by simply not having proper treatment or paying any attention to the ailments he has, just by thinking positively about his health. The practical way of resolving this issue is to work on the deficiencies and by removing them, one can regain his health. The world is flooded with the literature on positive thinking and positive thoughts.
Every nook and corner we can find the persons advocating the need of inculcating the habit of positive thinking for a happy and fulfilled life. Looking at this one thing is sure that negativity is something that automatically creeps up in human minds like an epidemic and positive thinking is like its antidote. That's why so much of literature and motivational gurus are behind positivity and it is always the talk of the town from schools, colleges to the corporate world.
A normal logic prevails that if we continue focus on positive side of things, it will not allow negative things to come up and gradually only positive things will happen in our lives. It sounds like saying that if you focus on day only, night will not prevail. Which is not anyhow going to happen whether you focus on day or night, life always has its own way of happening. Life is a balanced combination of day and night, positive and negative, good and bad or happy and sad events. Actually it will be fair to say that life is just happening, it is only our perceptions that makes us feel that these happenings are positive or negative, good or bad, happy or sad.
