With the onset of the autumn months of September & October, India transforms itself into a picturesque land of festivities. From the grand celebrations of Durga Puja, the vibrant spirit of Navratri through Dandiya & Garbha and Diwali - the festival of lights, it is that time of the year where every Indian is in the mood for celebrations. Like it or not, today’s festivities is marked by shopping. Thus, to engage more with the customers at point of sale, brands and retailers are rolling out eye-catchy campaigns in the retail environment. In this edition, Point-of-Purchase brings you some of the in-store branding and displays spotted across different cities.

Luring the festive shopper

The festive season is a crucial time for all consumer products brands today. Shopping and even gifting has reached newer levels in the country today. While brands bring in the option of gift packaging or product combos, retailers are creating zones for festive shopping, coupled with decor and price offers to lure the customers. After a sort of cold show in the last couple of years, FMCG & CDIT companies are expecting 2016 festive season to bring in the bumper sales. And in tune with this sentiment, brands and retailers are enhancing the experience for customers through various in-store branding and displays this season.

Going Big at Big Bazaar

In-tune with their motto ‘We believe in making India Beautiful!’ Big Bazaar has rolled out the Festive Gift Shop section within their outlets.

Speaking about this special section, Anuradha Singh, Chief-Experience Design, Big Bazaar shares, “We as Indians are famously known as people with Big Hearts, for our generosity, our hospitality, our grand colourful loud celebrations! Gifting is an integral part of the Indian culture specially during festivals and celebrations. So we came up with this concept of a Festive Gift Shop, a SIS space within Big Bazaar. The Festive Gift Shop is launched across all Big Bazaar stores right from the inception of the festive season.”

The SIS in the bigger stores are to continue even after the festive season, 365 days a year providing easy gifting solutions for their customers. The design language for this installation takes inspiration from the amalgamation of the Paisley having Indian quotient and the heart having emotional quotient. From an asymmetric Welcome Gate to Promo Table, Gondola Headers to Price Signage systems, the design language flows to inspire the Indian consumer to celebrate and gift one another.
