With 82 percent share, the private sector (15.095 mt, up by 99.5 percent) led crude steel production compared to the 18 percent contribution of the PSUs.
Hot metal production was 6.329 mt in May 2021, up by 44.9 percent over May 2020 and by 0.3 percent over April 2021.
With 70 percent share, the private sector (8.816 mt, up by 61.7 percent) led hot metal production, compared to the 30 percent contribution of the PSUs.
Finished steel production stood at 8.753 mt in May 2021, up by 58.5 percent over May 2020. Production was down 1.2 percent from April 2021.
With 85 percent share, the private sector (14.988 mt, up by 143 percent) led production of total finished steel, compared to the 15 percent contribution of the PSUs.
