Aiming To Make India A Franchising Hub

Company Profile: The realisation that India does not have any home-grown brand that has 1000+ outlets was the foundation of Yellow Tie Hospitality. It is a restaurant franchise management company dedicated to improving and maintaining franchising in India. Founder Karan Tanna was working with a brand called Kutchi King when he got an idea to start his own company that supports franchising in India. He began by launching a restaurant called Goodies. Currently, 90% of the company’s stores are franchised; the remaining 10% of the stores are operated by the company.

Brand's Franchising Journey: The founder was part of a Gujarat based chain, Kutchi King. The chain grew to 200 stores in the course of time. Karan Tanna was working with General Motors followed by Mckinsey & Company. After Mckinsey, he started a business of his own and launched a restaurant called Goodies. This restaurant was a franchise of a restaurant which was running from15 years in Baroda. He later started franchisee of a US brand, Genuine Broaster Chicken. Within a year, it had 20 stores across India. So, having worked with the franchises and the franchisors, Karan had enough experience at both the ends and it has helped in establishing the foundation of Yellow Tie Hospitality as a brand.
