Former Ch 8 star APPLE HONG got hitched to her longtime boyfriend of 10 years last week. How did the 39-year-old manage to keep it a secret?
You can’t blame us for thinking that October is an auspicious month for celeb marriage announcements. Former actress Tracy Lee got the ball rolling when she married the son of billionaire popiah king Sam Goi at the beginning of the month. Then Ch 8 Duke Xu Bin surprised all when he announced that he was getting married to his Chinese girlfriend of four years next month.
Now former Ch 8 star Apple Hong tells us that she had gotten married last week. However, she declines to elaborate on the details, telling us that “my husband is a very private person”.
The Malaysian-born actress left Mediacorp in 2011 to pursue an acting career in China, and returned to Singapore after she got engaged in 2015. We’re now with her at the the press con of her upcoming Chinese play Sole Mate, which will run at the Victoria Theatre on Dec 8 and 9.
The play tells the story of three married women and the problems they face in their lives. Apple plays Margaret, a housewife and mother-of-three whose marriage has grown stale.
