S.W.A.T. Star, Social Media Phenom, and All-around Great Guy Shemar Moore Makes Us S.W.O.O.N.

Give Us Moore
IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE INVITED BY SHEMAR MOORE TO SPEND TIME AT HIS HOUSE—AND his 2.3 million followers on Instagram would say you’re very lucky indeed—you’ll find clues about his personality the moment you pull up to his two-story, Spanish-style abode in Encino, California.

Perched on the corner of a street full of modern fortresses rendered in stone and glass, Moore’s crib stands out for its sand color and chocolate-hued doors, alerting you to the warm, bold, and grounded nature of the man inside. Then there’s his impeccably groomed lawn and the crew out front detailing his badass black Ford Bronco—both signs that the man playing Hondo in S.W.A.T. this fall pays fierce attention to detail.

Of course, these traits become even clearer inside, where Moore makes guests feel right at home, right away. (Do you want water? Something stronger? It’s all good!) One quick glance around the airy living room—brimming with plush couches and decorated in earth tones like mahogany, brick, and beige—and you quickly get why many a guest at casa de Moore discovers that Friday night has turned into Monday morning.

But why stay indoors? The backyard and its soothing pool beckon, triple-digit temperatures be damned. Just like the rest of his space, Moore’s outdoor playground is more a rejuvenating and intimate resort than a trendy hangout, with its detached sauna, calming colors, and aging bulldogs, Shug and Moe, frolicking around the artificial turf perimeter. It’s a little slice of heaven, and Moore clearly relishes every inch. Though he’s sitting in the sun and rocking all-black workout gear, the perennially cool heartthrob doesn’t break a sweat—entirely fitting for this leading man. Watch! talked with Moore about his past, the path that got him to the great space he’s in now, and his big plans for the future.
