<p> </p><p>&quot;I&#39;ve lost about 45 pounds in the last several months,&quot; Al Roker recently shared. His secret? A change in diet and regular exercise. &quot;I do about 100 grams of carbs a day and I walk,&quot; said the Today anchor, 67, who is participating in the show&#39;s 30-day walking challenge. Al&#39;s benefiting from those daily strolls in other ways, too. &quot;Exercise, and not extreme exercise, [also] improves your mental health.&quot; Of course, this isn&#39;t the first time Al has opened up about his weight. In 2002, he underwent gastric bypass surgery after years of unsuccessful dieting. He dropped more than 100 pounds and continues to work hard at keeping healthy and fit including sessions with a personal trainer. &quot;I have setbacks and struggle every day,&quot; says Al, &quot;but I never forget how far I&#39;ve come.&quot;</p>
