At the London premiere of Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise made a point of praising Val Kilmer, who reprised his role as pilot Tom &quot;Iceman&quot; Kazansky from the &#39;86 original - despite losing his voice in 2014 following throat cancer. &quot;He&#39;s an actor that I greatly admire, so it was wonderful,&quot; shared Tom. &quot;We get together, [and] we just start laughing. It was special to have him back. It meant a lot to me.&quot; Although his voice had to be digitally re-created, Val felt his cameo was &quot;like being reunited with a long lost friend.&quot; His daughter, Mercedes, was also thrilled to see Dad back in action. &quot;I was on set, I saw it live, and it was extraordinary,&quot; she said. &quot;It means a lot to my dad as he&#39;s very proud of that film. It was trippy, and very special for my dad to be on set with all of his friends who made this movie when they were my age.&quot;</p>
