Straddling Continents With Confidence... Priyanka Chopra Is India’s Pride Believes Filmfare Goddess.

Global Goddess
The world is her oyster. In a week, she can do a round-up of the globe and still burst with energy. After a hectic shoot in Ireland for Quantico, a fashionable outing at the Met gala, attending Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding, a quick trip to Bangladesh as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.. Priyanka Chopra is back in New York City to fulfill her professional commitments.

Back home, she set her fans in frenzy with the news of her doing Bharat opposite Salman Khan. That rumours of her dating American pop singer Nick Jonas broke the internet would be an understatement.

Given her talent as a performer and warmth as a person, Priyanka’s popularity cannot be confined to a country or continent. “Destiny obviously has some plan for me. That’s why main yahan pohanch gai,” is her take on her broadening horizons.

She’s awaiting the release of her next Hollywood outing A Kid Like Jake. The film has been appreciated at Sundance Film Festival. She informs us that she isn’t playing the lead in both her Hollywood films - A Kid Like Jake and Isn’t It Romantic “Liam Hemsworth and I are playing supporting parts. Rebel Wilson and Adam DeVine are the leads in Isn’t It Romantic Hemsworth is a giant star. But he’s okay doing it,” she smiles. Tell her that Indian stars don’t think like that and she says some do. She gets why Amitabh Bachchan did The Great Gatsby (2013). “He didn’t even take money for it. He said, ‘I love your art and that’s why I wanna do it’. That’s great. It’s people like him, who’ve given us the opportunity to kick the door open,” she insists. She believes that because Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Irrfan, Om Puri and Anupam Kher were willing to do supporting roles in Hollywood, it got the next generation of entrants a better chance.
