IT’S BEEN TWO years since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’. Since then, their extremely public split – dubbed the most acrimonious in Hollywood – has been marked by claims of assault, bitter negotiations and child custody battles.
Last month, there appeared to be a new development when court papers revealed that Brad and Angelina would come face to face again in an LA court on 4 December. The trial, to determine who gets custody of their six children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox, would potentially go on for months, and was expected to ‘get nasty’, said reports. Angelina was apparently planning to bring up the 2016 incident on-board a private jet that led to the end of their marriage (plus a child abuse investigation against Brad, since dropped as he was cleared of any wrongdoing).
‘Angelina made it clear that she was planning to attend the trial herself,’ an LA-based source told Grazia. ‘This put pressure on Brad to show up. As much as he detests the idea, he knows it could reflect badly on him if he’s not present and Angelina is. So he’s been begging her to settle out of court and come up with an agreement on their own.’
