 But this week, actor and philanthropist Priyanka Chopra will marry singer Nick Jonas in a celebration so lavish, it could even rival the royal nuptials. Priyanka, 36, will wed the 26-year-old singer in a multi-day event in her native India, starting this Wednesday. Not to be outdone by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the couple have chosen the stunning Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace, the residence of Jodhpur&rsquo;s former royal family, as their venue. Nestled in 26 acres of land, with 347 stunning art deco-designed rooms, it was recently named the world&rsquo;s best hotel. The Chopra-Jonas celebrations are expected to include a Hindu ceremony on 2 December, followed by a Christian one the next day, to reflect their heritages. The couple will be decorated with henna body art before the traditional sangeet ceremony, at which Nick is reportedly planning to perform, singing Western pop songs and Bollywood classics. Although Meghan and Harry aren&rsquo;t believed to be flying to India due to their schedule, it&rsquo;s likely to be one of the most celebrity-studded weddings of 2018. Nick&rsquo;s brother Joe and his fianc&eacute;e, Game Of Thrones actor Sophie Turner, will be there, along with friends of Priyanka&rsquo;s, including Lupita Nyong&rsquo;o and Armie Hammer and his wife Elizabeth Chambers. Priyanka&rsquo;s Bollywood career means the Indian A-list will also be out in force. The couple have been friends for years, but only got together romantically earlier this year. After a relationship she described as a &lsquo;whirlwind&rsquo;, they got engaged in July, with Priyanka posting their engagement picture on Instagram with the caption &lsquo;Taken&hellip; with all my heart and soul&rsquo;. Priyanka&rsquo;s career has been hailed as groundbreaking. She is as well-known in India as the US, where she now lives. After winning the 2000 Miss World pageant, she became one of India&rsquo;s most popular actors, winning awards for roles in some of the country&rsquo;s highest-grossing films. In 2015, she got the role of FBI agent Alex Parrish on the US series Quantico, becoming the first South Asian to lead an American network drama series. Priyanka is also well known for her humanitarian work for UNICEF and, like her friend Meghan, who she first met at a Women in Television dinner at the start of 2016, she campaigns for gender and racial equality. &lsquo;I don&rsquo;t want to settle for one or two countries, I want the world,&rsquo; she recently said, when asked about her ambitions. PeeCee, as she&rsquo;s known, added that she hoped her success would &lsquo;open the floodgates for more people who look like me&rsquo;.
