With her very own radio show on one of the country’s biggest stations, Sian Welby’s career is, by her own admission, beyond her wildest dreams.
And as hello! sits down for an exclusive chat with the Heart DJ, she confesses to us that sharing an office with radio royalty Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton “would blow 13-year-old me’s mind – they are my heroes”.
Sian, now 32, also works alongside husband-and-wife duo Rochelle and Marvin Humes. “One day I need to get them all together and hear their showbiz stories – they must have loads.”
As host of the weekday evening radio slot, which reaches millions of listeners, Sian rubs shoulders with A-listers on a daily basis and often gets them involved in lighthearted games – a trademark of her show.
SAUCY STORIES
Having welcomed a host of famous faces into her studio, from Hollywood actor Chris Pratt to international pop star Pink, Sian has no shortage of anecdotes of her own to share.
“You’d be surprised how many celebrities are up for a laugh when they play my games,” says the Nottinghamshire-born star.
“Rita Ora was amazing,” she adds, remembering a game of “hot sauce roulette” when the Anywhere singer came onto the show.
