AFTER CARRYING OUT 40 ENGAGEMENTS IN JUNE HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN SHOWS NO SIGNS OF SLOWING DOWN AS SHE PUTS ON A COLOURFUL DISPLAY IN SCOTLAND
Ahead of her summer holidays, the Queen was as busy as ever last week and hosted a garden party in Edinburgh for 8,000 people, after carrying out more than 40 official engagements in June alone.
Looking radiant in pink and surrounded by three of her children, Her Majesty was all smiles as she mingled with guests at her official Scottish residence, the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Accompanied by Princess Royal, the Earl of Inverness and the Earl of Forfar – as the Duke of York and the Earl of Wessex are known north of the border – the 93-year old monarch was the perfect host. In a coral coat and matching hat by Angela Kelly, teamed with white gloves and black patent leather shoes, she carried a pink-trimmed Fulton umbrella as she chatted to guests at the annual event, which recognizes those making a positive impact in their communities.
Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was among the attendees, who were treated to an afternoon tea of sandwiches, cakes, and royal chocolates, as well as music from regimental bands and the Royal Scottish Pipers’ Society.
