Crouching low and gazing adoringly at his baby son, the Duke of Sussex is every inch the doting dad in a newly published photograph from Archie’s christening.
The delightful image was shared by his wife the Duchess on Instagram to mark Harry’s 35th birthday on 15 September with a personal message that read: “Your service to the causes you care so deeply for inspires me every day. You are the best husband and most amazing dad to our son. We love you. Happiest birthday!”
The previously unseen black-and-white shot by Chris Allerton was one of a collage of nine photos of Harry taken over the years, among them one of him as a baby with his mother the Princess of Wales, one with his brother Prince William and one from his wedding day.
The Duke celebrated his first birthday as a dad days after giving youngsters an update on his four-month-old son. Asked how Archie was doing by pupils at Lealands High School in Luton, where he was visiting in support of the Rugby Football Union All Schools program, he replied: “He’s really well, thank you. And he is getting so big.”
