Jaydev and Zia Mody’s Talented Daughter, Anjali, Talks About Her ‘green School’ Experience in Bali, Urban Farming and Following a Sustainable Mandate With Her Own Enterprise
With your education in a green school, did you grow up sensing a climate change ‘clock’ ticking away?
“I think every brand is evolving into a space where they are consuming consciously. You have to be aware about the carbon footprints you leave on the planet. In today’s day and age when climate change and global warming are a calling issue, we as people who are part of the luxury and lifestyle industry have a social responsibility. If we don’t look into it now, it may be too late.”
Tell us a little about your studio JOSMO. How is it shaping up so far?
“We made sustainability our mandate a very long time ago; most of our products are handmade. We use reclaimed wood, old Burma teak, natural linseed oils and natural stains instead of trays. The irony is that a lot of people think it’s a big step that you need to take to lead a sustainable lifestyle or work around a sustainable model – but the fact is that, there are only little-little things that you need to practice.”
