Last Tuesday, November 28, should have been a special day for Anna Nicole Smith. The model, actress and iconic blonde bombshell would have turned 50.

Anna Nicole never made this milestone, tragically dying from a drug overdose 11 years ago, aged just 39. But take one look at her gorgeous daughter Dannielynn Birkhead and it’s clear that Anna Nicole’s spirit is still very much alive.

To mark the late star’s big birthday, Dannielynn and her father Larry Birkhead made the trek back to Nassau, in the Bahamas, where Danni was born five months before her mother died in February 2007.

“I’m gonna call it her eleventh 39th birthday,” Larry smiles as he opens up in a new interview.

The Bahamas has become a second home to Larry and Danni, and is a place where the schoolgirl is treated as one of the locals. It’s also where she comes to think about her mum.
