The star’s left reeling as a former friend threatens to expose the skeletons in her closet...

From ugly feuds with the school mums to battles with her ex and a face-off with her teenage daughter, Reese Witherspoon’s feisty Big Little Lies character Madeline Mackenzie sure has some problems.

But Madeline luckily has a tight-knit tribe – played by Nicole Kidman, 49, and Shailene Woodley, 25 – to confide in.

“You see what we do for each other... in terms of protecting each other, holding each other’s secrets,” Reese, 41, says of her on-screen squad.

But she might be wishing she hadn’t confided in her real-life pals so much in the past, as a former high school classmate is threatening to spill all about the skeletons in the star’s closet. 

“Reese has caught wind that an old acquaintance is shopping around a tell-all about her and what she was really like back then,” an insider tells NW. “She’s worried... She’s worked so hard to build this polished image as Hollywood’s golden girl and a loving wife and mum, but this could undo it all.”
