Ferne McCann hit her milestone 30th birthday last week. And while her plans to celebrate were cancelled due to coronavirus restrictions, she didn’t let it ruin her special day.
“I had everything planned – it was all good to do a gorgeous lunch with all of my girls, but then I had to cancel,” she explains when new catches up with her over a video call. “It’s sad, but there will still be lots of champagne and cake.”
As she heads into another decade, the former TOWIE star tells us she’s more comfortable in her own skin than ever before. “I feel so body confident,” she says. “I live my life by the mantra that there’s only one you and that is your power. You need to start being kinder to yourself.”
Ferne, who’s mum to two-year-old daughter Sunday from her relationship with Arthur Collins, is single again after splitting from boyfriend Albie Gibbs in April.
Speaking on her reality show First Time Mum, she revealed she called it quits with the City trader on week five of lockdown after struggling with long-distance romance, as he lives in New York. However, it’s clear Ferne is radiating happiness – and she says she can’t wait to get back out there and have some fun.
Here, Ferne lifts the lid on what she wants in a potential partner, why she embraces therapy and whether she’ll be celebrating TOWIE ’s 10th anniversary…
Hi Ferne! How do you feel about turning 30?
Excited! I’m a proper adult now. Everyone I’ve spoken to who is 30-plus has told me their thirties are the best years, so I’m welcoming it with open arms.
What are you hoping the next decade brings you?
