Peter Andre’s six-pack was more famous than he was in the 90s. But the music star admits maintaining poster-ready abs wasn’t good for his health. “I basically didn’t eat any fats, so I was running on adrenaline and would be constantly ill,” he confesses.

When the 48-year-old dad-of-four gave up this strict regime in his thirties, he struggled with his weight, trying all sorts of crash diets to get back in shape, none of which he could follow in the long term. But he’s finally found a routine that works for him. And it all revolves around balance, rather than banning anything.

“We had Krispy Kremes sent to us recently and Emily and I have been having one every day,” he tells us with a grin. Peter is referring to his doctor wife, who he has daughter Amelia, seven, and a five-year-old son Theo with. He’s also dad to son Junior, 16, and daughter Princess, 14.

Here, the star opens up about Junior following in his musical footsteps, why he’s enjoying his job now more than ever and reveals his exciting new business venture to us…

Happy New Year, Pete! What are your plans for 2022?

I’m already so busy with work, as we’re a year behind because of the pandemic. I’m filming a feature film next, which kicks off in March, and the gigs are coming in, too. I’m so grateful, I’ll be 49 and still headlining.

We hear Junior is releasing an album soon. That’s exciting!
