To say Jessica Hayes didn’t have the best 2021 is an understatement. The star endured a heartbreaking split from her fiancé Dan Lawry last spring, just six months after the couple lost their second child, a little boy named Teddy, to a late miscarriage at 19 weeks.
Determined to pick herself up and carry on for her two-year-old son Presley, the Love Island series one winner decided to make some big changes to her life.
“I’d got to a point where I didn’t feel confident and just felt rubbish. I thought, ‘I’ve got to do this for me and my son,’” she explains.
So she threw herself into a healthier lifestyle – and it has clearly paid off. The 28-year-old, who is now three stone slimmer, is positively glowing.
She has started dating a new man, whose name she’s keeping private for now. And while she tells us it’s “early days”, she’s looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
Jessica also revealed last week that she has undergone breast enlargement surgery, though the subject is not up for discussion during our chat.
Here, she chats about ditching old unhealthy habits, finding new love and why she’s feeling like herself again…
Hi Jess, you look fab! What have you been doing?
Thank you! I feel like I’m the old Jess again now, but a better version. I’m at a healthy weight, I’ve got my old hair back. It’s like I’m me again. Now I look back at photos of me from the last couple of years and I’m like, “Who is that girl?”
