Victoria ‘I don't want to be seen as a failure'

Victoria Beckham’s fashion brand is suffering a huge loss and insiders say it’s leading to tension with husband David

Her fashion house was a roaring success when it launched in 2008, gaining an army of A-list fans. And just three years later, Victoria Beckham scooped the coveted Designer Brand of the Year title at the British Fashion Awards.

But now, 13 years on from the start of her label, Victoria, 46, is fearful of being seen as a failure after it was recently reported that the business suffered losses of £16.6 million in 2020 alone – and a total of almost £60 million over the past seven years.

“Victoria’s brand is losing so much money,” a source told new. “Victoria has a lot of pride and can be stubborn. She won’t want to be seen as a flop or a failure, so it’s spiraling out of control. Friends also fear she’s got too many ‘yes’ people around her that won’t tell it to her straight.”

It’s been reported in the past that her husband David has paid money from his own £300 million net worth to keep the brand afloat – with reports suggesting he was the mystery shareholder who offered a £16 million bailout in 2018.
