Who could’ve imagined that one little kiss would send such big shockwaves throughout Hollywood? As Alexander Skarsgård made his way to the stage to collect his Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, a brazen Nicole Kidman embraced her Big Little Lies co-star, pulling him in for a congratulatory smooch.

His arms around her waist, hers on his face, the pair – whose racy sex scenes in the series made headlines – kissed each other tenderly on the lips, while Nicole’s husband Keith Urban watched on.

The intimate moment was met with as strong a reaction as the pair’s obvious affection for one another, with a palpable ripple of surprise in the auditorium as she delivered the kiss. And as worldwide debate sparked up, many shared their disbelief over the incident.

‘Did Nicole Kidman just kiss another man on the lips while her husband is right next to her?’ wrote one Twitter user. ‘Am I the only one who finds this wild?’ questioned another.

However, one Emmys guest defended the actress, admitting it was a normal reaction in the heat of the moment. ‘So, she was pretty goofy with the kiss. But I just think she was drunk with the power and happiness of the win,’ shared the commentator. ‘It was a big moment for her. Now she’s 50 and has all this success, why should she rein it in?’
