Last week saw Naughty Boy face a testing first few days in the I’m A Celebrity castle. After losing a trial and challenge, the award-winning music producer, whose real name is Shahid Khan, went into the Castle Clink alongside Richard Madeley, who has now left the show, Arlene Phillips, David Ginola and Danny Miller – and found the experience extremely tough going.
The 36-year-old said he felt “traumatised” after his first night and briefly considered leaving the show, but his family say he will stick out his time in the Welsh castle as he signed up to the show for a very special reason.
His niece, Aisha Shaban, 23, is very close to her uncle and says Naughty Boy, who has worked with everyone from Sam Smith to Beyoncé and Rihanna, has spent the last five years caring for his mum, Zahida, 67, who suffers from dementia. She says he is planning to use his platform on the show to raise awareness of the condition.
