Octavia Spencer has wowed audiences with a series of standout performances, including her role as maid Minny Jackson in The Help – which saw her win Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2012 – and her stint in the drama series Truth Be Told.
When we speak with Octavia before the long-awaited second series dropped on Apple TV+ last month, the 51-year-old actress praises the show for being unique in its genre.
“I mean, we’ve seen a million hospital shows, we’ve seen a million cop shows and we’ve seen a million lawyer shows but you’ve not seen one about a journalist and a podcast,” she says.
