'MY LIFE HAD TO GET REALLY BAD BEFORE I SORTED MYSELF OUT'
Davina McCall is one of the most familiar and comforting faces on TV – and those are two qualities we’re all in great need of right now, especially with Christmas around the corner. With everything still up in the air because of the pandemic, it’s still unclear just how we’ll be spending the festive season. But chatting to Davina has given us a new perspective as the 53-year-old mum-of-three urges us to put normal expectations on hold, try not to worry and make the most of life’s simple things.

With a history of being open about the challenges she’s faced, Davina’s outlook on self-love and self-care is inspirational. After disclosing her battles with drug and alcohol addiction in her autobiography, Lessons I’ve Learned, she’s not one for clouding the truth. Instead, she tells us her outlook on life now is all about taking time out for yourself.

Charming and warm, Davina acknowledges the difficulties many families are facing this Christmas and gives us fresh inspiration on how we can spoil each other without worrying about present lists – and the price tags that come with them.

In a Christmas collaboration with Boots, Davina has pulled together a gifting edit that focuses on family and self-care and a compilation of what she calls “practical presents”. Here, she tells us about it and reveals how she feels about spending the festive season away from her kids Holly, 19, Tilly, 17, and Chester, 14…

Are you getting into the Christmas spirit, Davina?
