SPEAKING OUT: ‘DISABILITY IS HARD - BUT IF I CHANGED EVENTS I WOULDN'T BE WHO I AM?

There's no relationship quite like the one between a mother and daughter - but for Sophie Morgan and her mum Carol, the bond is extra-special.

It's not long into OK!'s chat with TV presenter Sophie, 37, that she tells us her mum saved her life and how much sharing this photoshoot with her means.

"She's always been such a rock, such a good friend and a brilliant mum,' Sophie explains, "I'll take any excuse to celebrate her."

As the pair pose in Carol's Sussex home, which is tastefully decorated in neutral tones and filled with flowers, it's clear they're as thick as thieves. It's not the house Sophie grew up in but when she's not at her flat in London, she and Carol - and her dad John and brother Tom - spend as much time as possible hanging out there together.

Chatting to Sophie is like talking to your smartest friend over a glass of wine. She's charming and engaging, and the way she's turned adversity into opportunity is a testament to her strength.

In the summer of 2003, when she was 18, Sophie was in a car crash. She now uses a wheelchair as a result of a spinal injury, but she hasn't let it hold her back. A genuine trailblazer, her career has taken off in recent years. Her big break, covering the London Paralympics, came in 2012, and led to her being in demand as a sports presenter. She went on to become the lead host at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympics and a co-host alongside Clare Balding at this year's Crufts.

Sophie has also proved her skill as a documentary maker with her series Living Wild: How To Change Your Life, which is about to start filming for its second series.
