The happy couple, who have been together for 16 years, have good reason to be grinning from ear to ear, as they celebrate two milestone birthdays this year – she’s 60 later this month and he is 50 in June.
However Vanessa, who shares daughters Allegra, 36, and Saskia, 33, with ex-husband Michael Kurer, admits to us she feels “extremely relieved” to reach this stage in her life.
“My mum died at the age of 57, so I had this really strong feeling I wouldn’t live any older than she did,” she tells us. “So, I feel absolutely delighted, relieved and very grateful.”
As we celebrate her forthcoming birthday, she talks through her 60 years, including her career and personal highs, as well as more painful subjects such as losing her mum so young, her gastric band problems and being “brokenhearted” following her divorce 21 years ago, after she discovered her husband was cheating when it was reported in a tabloid newspaper.
