Olivia and Alex Bowen went wild while counting down the days to the arrival of their first child – throwing a lavish safari-themed baby shower. The Love Island stars’ bash included a DJ set, a three-course meal, and custom cocktails for everyone except the mum-to-be.
Here, Olivia, 28, tells OK! about her and 30-year-old Alex’s big day, complete with life-sized animals, speeches, and Love Island guests. She also spills the beans on her hopes for a water birth and coping with pregnancy anxiety...
Hi, Olivia! How was your special day?
Everyone had the best time. We ate, danced, laughed, and played baby shower games. I was so tired by the end of it.
Did it make things feel more real?
We both said it made everything more real. We’ve got everything we need, did our baby bump shoot, and had the baby shower. There’s nothing left but the arrival.
Why did you decide on a safari theme?
I’ve become obsessed with giraffes. We had a life-size giraffe and zebra. Our event planner went all-out with a huge table set-up, a bar, a safari-themed cake, a meal – and Alex on the decks.
It sounds amazing! Who was there?
