Fast, Furious & Fabulous!
People Magazine South Africa|April 28, 2017

CHARLIZE speaks exclusively about her life in the fast lane.

Fast, Furious & Fabulous!

HAVING taken it to the max on Fury Road, Charlize Theron is back in the driving seat again – only now she’s just plain furious. The 41-year-old South African hasn’t gone through the same radical transformation as she did on her last high octane blockbuster, Mad Max: Fury Road, but joining The Fast And The Furious franchise is no less of a challenge.

In Fate Of The Furious, the eighth movie in the blockbuster series, Charlize joins the cast as Cipher, a deadly mastermind who manages to seduce Vin Diesel’s Dom back to the world of crime.

Furious favourites Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson return from a seemingly quiet life to rescue Dom and take down Cypher in the way fans have come to expect – with fast cars, massive stunts and big explosions. For Charlize, Fate Of The Furious provided not only another chance to play a strong and complex female character, but also a tight and organised schedule to help with her juggling act involving film and family. Since adopting son Jackson and two-and-half-year-old daughter August, the Oscar-winning actress’ main role in life has become that of devoted mother. Having been raised in South Africa by just her mother, Charlize has the perfect blueprint with which to raise her own children the right way and part of that is ensuring she does work she can be proud of.

Slamming the brake on her hectic schedule for just a moment Charlize talks about getting up to speed with her new fast and furious friends, being bad, staying strong and how motherhood has changed her.
