The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were pictured as a family of five for the first time at Prince Louis’ christening, where the 11-week-old Prince was dressed in the same cream gown used for Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s christenings
Prince Louis looked serene as he arrived for his christening on Monday July 9th. The 11-week-old was “relaxed and peaceful,” his mother was heard telling the Archbishop of Canterbury, adding wryly: “I hope he stays like this.”
The proud mother looked elegant as she arrived in a long-sleeved cream McQueen dress and headpiece by Jane Taylor, with the baby Prince sleeping in her arms.
Her husband Prince William walked slightly ahead, holding the hands of their other two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The 3-year-old Princess is known for stealing the show with her delightful royal wave and confident nature, and she showed off her good manners as she shared a polite handshake with the Archbishop of Canterbury. Then she gave a cheery wave as she walked towards the cameras while Prince George looked more hesitant.
Newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan arrived close behind the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, with the Duchess of Sussex wearing an olive green Ralph Lauren dress and a Stephen Jones hat.
Catherine’s pregnant sister Pippa Middleton also attended, along with husband James Matthews.
Prince Louis was baptised at the Chapel Royal at St James’ Palace, a venue that is rich in royal history. It was the setting for Queen Victoria’s wedding to Prince Albert in 1840, and the Queen’s grandparents, King George V and Queen Mary, married there in 1893. Prince Louis’ brother Prince George was christened there also, while sister Princess Charlotte was baptised at Sandringham in Norfolk.
