This week, three beloved Y&R characters with significant connections to Victor Newman return to Genoa City for the celebration of Newman Enterprises’ 50th anniversary. Their portrayers were thrilled about the invitation to reprise their former roles.
“It’s always a pleasant surprise to get the call,” says Robert Adamson, who has played Victor’s grandson Noah off and on since 2012. “But I did hear something was going on with Sharon as far as the cancer story, so I would’ve been surprised to not hear from them.”
However, Robert Parucha, who portrayed Victor’s little brother, Matt Miller (1985-87 and 1993), was caught off-guard when Y&R called. “In this business you never know,” he notes. “I’m glad that the writers and the producers saw fit to weave Matt back into the storyline, especially for this particular episode where it really pulls a lot of Victor’s life together. I think Matt was a significant part of his life.”
Meg Bennett, the first Mrs. Victor Newman, debuted as Julia in 1980, and has a deep connection to Eric Braeden (Victor). “Eric and I started on the show on the same day,” she points out. “You met Victor and Julia when they showed up at the police station because somebody had stolen Julia’s Mercedes and Victor was pissed as hell. They had just bought the ranch and he was always dressed in western clothes.”
