Despite Prince Andrew's best efforts to evade legal proceedings, the 61-year-old royal was hit with official documents on Sept. 20 relating to a lawsuit filed against him by Virginia Giuffre, a woman who has accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor (Andrew has denied the allegations).

Nailing the Duke of York down was no easy feat days before, a U.S. judge compared the situation to a “game of hide and seek behind palace walls.” The Prince chose his hiding place well, holing up with his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, at Balmoral castle. "It's almost impossible to get to," notes an insider, “because it's situated in the Scottish High lands in middle of nowhere behind a fortress of steel gates and security.”

Now, the disgraced royal is planning to go even further underground as the civil suit An plays out in the U.S. courts. Making matters worse, shocking accusations of racism have many wondering whether Andrew was the royal Prince Harry and Meghan Markle alluded to in their bombshell interview in March. “Andrew is being forced to face the music," says the insider. “And he's gone into panic mode. He knows he can't hide out at Balmoral forever, so he's basically plotting his next secret move."
