When mob wife MaNgcobo (Dawn Thandeka King) came home recently following her brief split from her gangster husband Nkunzi Mhlongo (Masoja Msiza), she thought that he’d listened to her and thrown out his second wife MaMlambo (Gugu Gumede). “Seeing as she wants to be the only woman in Nkunzi’s life, MaNgcobo is beyond irritated at the sight of MaMlambo still in their home,” says Dawn.
MaNgcobo doesn’t waste time giving Nkunzi an ultimatum: MaMlambo goes right away, or she’ll move out – and this time, for good. “In true Nkunzi fashion, he stalls and makes excuses, leaving his first wife with no choice but to pack her bags – again. MaNgcobo moves in with an offscreen friend in the neighbouring township of Ntuzuma,” says Dawn, adding that her character is looking forward to starting fresh, without Nkunzi and his drama. But little does she know that fate has other plans for them and that the more she runs, the more Nkunzi’s grip over her tightens…
