Half-brothers Nkululeko (Nkanyiso Mchunu) and Zithulele (Raphael Griffiths) have been relentless in their search for the person who put a hit on their dad Ngcolosi Bhengu (Tony Kgoroge), but every lead has been a dead end. That was until Ngcolosi’s widow MaZulu (Leleti Khumalo) pointed them to the dead businessman’s confidant Phunyuka (Mduduzi Nombela). “Phunyuka and Ngcolosi had a special bond,” explains Mduduzi. “They were like brothers, and always looked out for each other.” And while Phunyuka couldn’t protect Ngcolosi, he can keep Nkululeko and Zithu safe as they put themselves in harm’s way looking for answers.
THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE
Out of loyalty to his late friend, Maluju Oil employee Phunyuka has kept quiet since Ngcolosi’s assassination in July. “But the time is right to tell Ngcolosi’s sons the truth. Phunyuka knows that if he doesn’t, the men will get themselves into deeper trouble. Zithulele and Nkululeko do not understand the danger that they are in, and asking the wrong questions could get them killed,” says Mduduzi, adding that “if I described Phunyuka in one word, it would be loyal. There were times he didn’t agree with Ngcolosi’s actions, but he never turned his back on him. He always wanted to protect his friend.”
