Courtney Act LOUD, PROUD AND... fabulous!

With her flowing blonde hair, bright red lips, slinky hips and immaculate eyelashes, Courtney Act oozes sex appeal, and has become a popular international drag act since first appearing on the first season of Australian Idol way back in 2003. The stage persona of Brisbane-born Shane Jenek, 38, she has guested on RuPaul’s Drag Race, won Celebrity Big Brother in the UK and narrowly missed out on the chance to represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest. She was also the first drag artist to model clothes for American Apparel and made history as half of the first same-sex pair on Dancing with the Stars Australia, and is a passionate advocate for the LGBTQI community.

This week, she is hosting SBS’ coverage of Sydney’s Mardi Gras, and spoke to WHO about her incredible journey. “My life is certainly more colourful and wonderful then I could have ever imagined!” she laughs.

Doing Mardi Gras is a big responsibility.
