SHOCK DIAGNOSIS

On March 26, the Golden Raspberry Awards (or Razzies) for the year's worst films were handed out, including the new category Worst Bruce Willis Performance in a 2021 movie'.

Just four days later, Willis's family released a heartbreaking statement. “As a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities," the statement read. "As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him." The announcement shed light on the actor's decision to crank out 22 critically panned films in the last four years, including eight movies in 2021 alone. “Bruce has been struggling for quite some time. He has tried to keep his health struggles private, but last year, his health started declining more," a source told Entertainment Tonight. “He made a plan to make a bunch of movies and do as much as he could career-wise, so that he could retire and take care of his family."

The heartbreaking news was met with a chorus of support from fans and famous friends. “He was such an incredible acting partner to me, and is the loveliest, most gentle and hilarious man,” posted Sarah Paulson, who starred alongside the actor in Glass. “He reigns supreme in my book.”
