Just when you thought it was all happy and gay, you notice rashes erupting on your body but don’t know why. Though you may be aware of melasma and acne, experiencing an unexpected rash can become too much to handle. That is why I write this piece—to help ease your skin woes. Read on to learn about the common post-partum rashes that a new mom may face, and advide on how you can deal with them, instead of getting overwhelmed.
dry skin
Pregnancy and delivery can sap your body of nutrients and leave your skin dry, irritated and full of rashes, from face to toe. Luckily, this is the easiest to treat. I would advise using a gentle non-foaming milk or oil cleanser for your face and body, and moisturise with lotions heavy on skin barrier agents like petroleum jelly or silicone. Eat a diet rich in omega-3 and essential fatty acids and watch your skin heal over time.
