If you and your partner are planning to get pregnant, you have probably come across more of these myths during your research, whether online or from other couples. Some of them seem to have a bit of truth to them, while others are just downright nonsensical. But how do you know which is which?
To set things straight, we have rounded up some of these fertility myths to find out whether you should take them into account, or just throw them out the window.
An orgasm is a must to get pregnant
Those of you who find it hard to have an orgasm during intercourse will be happy to know that there is no truth to this. Having an orgasm just makes intercourse more fun for both parties, but there is definitely no evidence that having one is necessary for women to conceive.
However, some experts believe that it can help to a certain extent. This is because when a woman has an orgasm, the contraction of the uterus may enable the sperm to move faster towards the egg. But whether this actually increases a woman’s chances of conceiving still remains unproven.
Breastfeeding is a form of birth control
