India celebrates her Republic Day on the day when the Constitution of our country came into force- the 26th of January 1950.
India feted her 69th Republic Day with a grand ceremony in New Delhi. The Republic Day parade began at Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate where Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. The parade was presided over by President Ram Nath Kovind.
10 leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) including Hun Sen Prime Minister of Cambodia, President Joko Widodo of Indonesia and Prime Minister Prayuth ChanOcha of Thailand were guests of honor at the ceremonial parade.
