MediaTek is on cloud nine with the success of Helio P70 and the acceptability of brand among various OEMs such as Oppo, Vivo and Realme and buyers too. Anuj Sidharth, Deputy Director, Marketing and Communication, MediaTek India had a word with My Mobile on company’s success and roadmap for days to come.
After Helio P60, Helio P70 proves to be a flag bearer for MediaTek in the SoC sector. So what is the success formula behind it? Is it performance or pricing? Right now we can say MediaTek Helio P70 is one of the most sought after chipset in its segment and has proven to be a flag bearer for MediaTek. While Helio P70 gets a lot of credit for being a workhorse around AI, and performance and in a lot of recent device launches in India, the foundational success for Helio P70 was laid by the tremendous performance of our MediaTek Helio P60.
As for success of the Helio P70, first and foremost it’s about the performance and other features. We know device makers look at the consumer demands. And consumers want performance and quality experiences like AI features, powerful processing and imaging advancements and more and they want it at mass market price points. Helio P70 is part of what MediaTek calls the New Premium – taking high end features and bringing them to mid-market devices that are more affordable to the mass market. In today’s competitive market, when OEM’s and the end users have so many options available, you can’t rely on a single value proposition and Helio P70 delivers on multiple levels to help OEM’s put innovative and attractive devices into the market.
