With the rising love for attractive smartphone designs, the market players are compelled to keep on refreshing new designs in short intervals. However, it will be interesting to know how far the change in designs has been a successful affair for the players. The latest trend in the smartphone design is pop-up selfie camera. And the Chinese smartphone maker Vivo became the talk of the town after it highlighted Vivo NEX as the world’s first smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera. Vivo NEX
Initially launched in China and then in India last year, comes with a 6.59-inch full-HD+ Super AMOlED “Ultra FullView” display with 19.3:9 aspect ratio along with an 8MP selfie camera housed in a small motorized unit that pops-up out of the body and a dual rear camera set-up with 12MP+5MP sensors.
The retractable camera has a robotic sound that can be turned off too. And as per the company claims, the device is not fragile can withstand accidental scratches and dents. However, it depends on person to person if they want to flaunt it while taking selfies or not.
Since Vivo started this trend of the retractable camera, many other smartphone players joined in the race. Recently launched devices such as Oppo F11 Pro, OnePlus 7 Pro, and Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has fared quite well in the camera segment among other smartphones and also flaunts a pop-up selfie camera. OnePlus 7 Pro is the company’s flagship device that would cost you Rs 48,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant. It has a triple 48MP+16MP+8MP rear camera setup and also features a 16MP motorized front sensor.
